GTC ANNUAL MEETING ELECTS
CLARK AS PRESIDENT FOR 2004-2005

The Greater Towson Committee (GTC) concluded another banner
year in June, celebrating many accomplishments in support
of making Towson a continuously thriving community. On
June 29, at the Conference Center at Sheppard Pratt, the
GTC presented its 2004-2005 Annual Meeting to board members,
elected officials and community leaders.
During the meeting, incoming officers were announced, including: C.
William "Bud" Clark, President; Barbara Beth Kernan, President-elect;
George Hale, Secretary; James M. Railey, Treasurer; John
F. Cavanaugh, VP-Marketing; William P. Monk, VP-Government
Relations; Dino C. LaFiandra, VP-Development and Planning
and Harvey S. Brooks, Jr., VP-Transportation and Parking.

of Cavanaugh Capital Management presented the organization's
Annual Report to members and guests. The work of the
GTC's Development and Planning Committee, chaired by Dino
C. LaFiandra of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, was lauded
for its work in advocating legislation relieving height restrictions
for properties within the BM-CT zone of Towson. Through
coordinated efforts with Councilman Gardina, the committee's
version was passed unanimously by the County Council.
The Transportation and Parking Committee, chaired by Harvey
S. Brooks, Jr., of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc, continued
to work on the Towson Signage Initiative due to be completed
during 2005. The committee also continues to pursue
options of alleviating congestion and eliminating speeding
on the section of York Road between Bosley and Dulaney Valley.
The organization expressed appreciated to numerous volunteers,
corporate sponsors and officials who helped make the GTC
so successful during the 2004-2005 year. A special
thank you was expressed to Robert E. Latshaw, Jr. for his
dedication, contributions and extraordinary leadership as
he completed his term as the 2004-2005 President.
The GTC is embarking on an aggressive agenda for 2005-2006. With
Bud Clark and Bebe Kernan at the helm of an already active
board of directors, the organization's goals are to increase
membership by 40% and generate additional revenue to support
programs and studies designed to improve the residential,
corporate and institutional quality of life in Towson.
The mission of the Greater Towson Committee is to promote investment
is Towson, through redevelopment and revitalization of property
and infrastructure for the benefit of the public good.
